Kristen Rästas is an interdisciplinary Estonian artist based in Berlin, working primarily with painting and video/VR. His practice spans installation and moves fluidly between digital and physical media. Rästas builds imagined landscapes and speculative worlds out of personal, often bodily source material — altered states of perception, memory, and psychological drift — rendered through painting, VR, and sculptural form. These worlds sit somewhere between the natural and the artificial, the remembered and the invented. Recurring themes of alienation, escape, and detachment surface across the work, as inner experience and external environment gradually lose their distinction.
